Dietitian

Foundation Rehabilitation Services offers dietitian services for patients of all ages and medical conditions.  Our Registered Dietitian, Janelle Vincent, has a sincere passion for sport and she has worked with athletes and teams from recreational to national level, with most of her work currently being with university level athletes.  She provides a number of services including: individual counseling, cooking classes, grocery shopping, hydration testing, and group sessions.  She offers services in both French and English.

Do I need a referral?

You may be referred by your physician, in which case, our receptionists will contact you directly to book an appointment.

Some extended health/private insurance plans require a physician's referral to reimburse you for dietitian services.  You should check with your plan administrator to clarify if this is required.

Is there a fee for my appointment or is it covered by my Manitoba Health card or an insurance plan?

Single consultation: $205 for a 1-hour initial assessment + a 30-minute follow-up + nutrition goals + meal recommendations.

Couple consultation: $385 for a 2-hour initial assessment + a 1-hour follow-up + nutrition goals + meal recommendations.

The follow-up appointment must be booked within 6-months of your initial assessment.  Otherwise, you will have to book an initial assessment again.

Appointments with the dietitian are NOT covered by Manitoba Health.

You may be covered for Dietitian Services under a private insurance plan.  Please check with your insurance provider to see what coverage is available for dietitian services.  when you come to your appointment, you will receive a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company to be reimbursed.

How long will my dietitian appointments be?

Your initial assessment will be approximately 60 minutes and follow-ups will be approximately 30 minutes.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Our Registered Dietitian will go through what you eat on a typical day with you in the initial assessment.  If you have a food record, it's helpful to bring it with you, but it's not mandatory.
